My husband was recently gifted with a unique family heirloom.
It is a book of the steamboat receipts of his GGGreat uncle, H.O. Plumlee or Hugh Oscar Plumlee.
Hugh was the son of Dr. William F. Plumlee and Permellia Biggerstaff.
He was also the brother of Doctor Dave Plumlee of Clay County, TN. as well as the brother of Dr. Barton Stone Plumlee and Beatrice Plumlee.
The first entry in the book is dated Jan. 9th, 1901 at Plumlee's Landing, TN.
There are several steamboats named on each page as well as the signatures of several people who received the goods that were shipped.
Some of the signatures include:
U.J. Moore, Moss, TN.
Plumlee & Conkins
W.M. Cherry, Moss, TN.
J.M. Brown, Arcot, TN
and several more.
If anyone is interested in having a copy of any of these signatures, I'd be happy to scan a copy and email it to you.
Also, if anyone has any info on who the parents of Dr. William F. Plumlee could be, we're still stumped on that and would appreciate any help.
