Plunk History from my research
The first Plunks of whom we have record were: Peter Plunk and His two sons Jacob John H and Peter's brother who spelled his name Plonk. These four traveled from Germany to Holland where they sailed for America on a ship which brought 18 families. We have no record of women folk in the party. They left the ship in Pennsylvania and journeyed down to Lincoln Co, North Carolina where they settled on the Catawba river near the present town of Lincolnton. The time of their arrival is not certain but they evidently were here during the Revolutionary war since Jacob, Peter's brother was revolutionary war soldier, and drew a veterans pension until about the year 1840. both Peter and Jacob married into the Kiser family in North Carolina.
