My husband, through his mother, is directly descended from Sergeant John Plympton. In fact, we went to Deerfield, Mass.,to get information on Plympton's life.
The story of the captives during their three-month journey to Canada, as told by Quentin Stockwell,a captive,is given in the following reference:Historical Address, Field Meeting 1889, History and Proceedings of the Pocumtuck Valley Memorial Association, 1880-1889, Vol II.Deerfield, Mass. There is also Levi Chase's Genealogy of the Family of Plimpton and Samuel Deane's History of Deerfield.
My husband, through his father, is directly descended from Jonathan Haynes of Haverhill (your descendant too)who was also captured by Indians.
