I had not looked for a Poage forum, so I was surprised to find it through another connected surname researcher. I am a descendant of John Millican who mar. 2nd Mary Cleghorn Moore who was the mother of my Elizabeth Ann Millican.

I have not done any real research on these lines, but if anyone has evidence that Lettice who mar. William Cleghorn more than the deed mentioning the Poage farm in NC, I would appreciate your sharing. That is a good indication Lettice was a dau. of John Poage and that John is a brother of Robert is also not really documented that I know of. I know of at least one person descended from John and Mary (Cleghorn Moore) Millican would also appreciate it. She is rather fond of Lettice and says the thinks she may be the first Fem-Libber when she refused to sign over her dower.

Janell
