201st Anniversary Celebration of Col. James Poage's arrival in Ohio

All descendants of Col. James Poage are invited to the 200th Anniversary Celebration of the arrival of three Presbyterian pastors in Ohio (Rev. William Williamson, Rev. James Gilliland and Rev. Dr. Robert G. Wilson). They moved from South Carolina to Ohio in 1805 because of their anti-slavery feelings. Col. Poage moved from Kentucky to Ohio in 1804 for the same reason. Col. Poage's daughter Margaret married Rev. Dr. Thomas S. Williamson (son of Rev. William Williamson). Col. Poage attended Rev. James Gilliland's Red Oak Presbyterian Church until he organized the Ripley Presbyterian Church.

The reunion will take place August 25-28, 2005. Places we will be visiting will be Chillicothe, Athens (Ohio University), Manchester, Ripley, Red Oak and West Union, Ohio.

Please e-mail me with your address and I'll send you an official invitation.

Thanks,

Jeff Williamson
