A book by the name, Early Families of Eastern and Southeastern Kentucky, on page 513, According to tradition and documentary evidence, Colonel Robert Poague, the emmigrant, had a brother, John, who settled in Rockbridge County, Virginia and married Jane Somers (Summers) of that county. They had ten children and were a noted family
