Hi Karen,
I can't remember if we have corresponded before or not. My grandmother was Urah Ann Poag, born 7Aug1879 in Lawrence County, TN. She was a daughter of Samuel L. Poag (3rd), he was a son of Robert McBride Poag. The information I have came from Bob Poag, 2404 Chickasaw Dr, Florence, AL 35630:

Robert McBride Poag, born 1812, York County, SC; died July 1896, York County, SC. Married Esther Burgess, a Chickasaw indian in 1833. They were first married near "Fishing Creek" in an indian ceremony and then again a few days later on Sep 20, 1833 in Clifton, TN. Esther Burgess was born 1813, died 1878. They had 12 children, both parents are buried in Tolle-Barnett Cemetery.

There will be a Poag family reunion in August in Florence , AL and I'm sure you can get more details then or write to Bob Poag.
