Margaret:

I am not aware of any documentation linking the Smith Family of the Flood Family to Pochaontas. According to leading genealogist to be a descendant of Pocahontas one must trace the lineage back to the Bolling Family. Jane Rolfe, granddaughter of Pocahontas, married Col Robert Bolling in 1675. They had only one son who was Col John Bolling of Cobbs who was born Jan 27,1676 and died April 20, 1729

Col. John Boilling married Mary Kennon and they had one son and five daughters. None of them or their children are connected to either the Smith of Flood Familiea.

There have been rumors that Pocahontas was married before she married John Rolfe and also that her son Thomas Rolfe had a son before Jane Rolfe. This just seems to be mere spectulations or rumors because thare is no positive evidence of any such marriages or births.

My only interest in the descendancy of Pocahontas is the fact that Richard Bland married Mary bolling the great great great granddaughter of Pocahontas.

Good Luck.
