Mary Caroline Grey (Lady Minto), b.1858

I read in several sources that Lady Minto, wife of former Governor General (GG) of Canada Lord Minto (from 1898-1904), used to claim that she was a descendant of the Indian princess Pocahontas, as was her brother Lord Grey (also GG of Canada, from 1904-1911).

I need to verify if those claims were true.

They supposedly descend from Pocahontas from their mother's side. She was Caroline Eliza Farquhar, and here are details of her life :
-Born to Sir Thomas Harvie Farquhar, 2nd Baron Farquhar (b.1775), and Sybella Martha Rockliffe (b.1784-d.1869)
-Married to General Hon. Sir Charles Grey, b. 1804

I have prepared the genealogical tree of Lady Minto (as far as I could go back) as an electronic file. The complete names and dates are on it. Email me if you would like to have it.

I would appreciate any help you can give me!

Thank you, and cordial greetings from Canada,
-Veronique Dupuis
