My experience with FTDNA's Family Finder is that the most recent common ancestor I have been able to find with any of the persons to whom I have been matched was born in the very early 18th century. Usually the ancestor is born in the late 17th century. I haven't been able to find many matches but it has been a long while since I have had the time to investigate. My impression is that identification of Pocahontas DNA is possible with present technology.
