Yes, I saw your reference to the article. Might have to buy it, I guess. It's all very interesting. I've heard lots of claims about Indian princesses, all taken with a grain of salt.

We did not have an oral history of Pocahontas in my husband's Renfro line, but came across references in our searching of "surname files" in the Kentucky History Center. Nothing very well documented -- that's why we were hoping to find some independent sources. The items in the surname files can be anything -- interesting but frustrating sometimes.
