Hello to everyone, I'm new to the board and have a question on how or who is considered to be the authority on verifying a family tree. I recently investgated a family tree passed down in my family claiming decendancy from Pocahontas and within a couple of days work on the net found every ancestor listed. Is there a recognized authority who can review and verify the data? Also other than bragging rights and personal satisfaction on knowing who one's ancestors are what does being a decendant of Pocahontas really mean? Seems a whole bunch of people are spending a lot of time and effort to establish a link, is there some kind of perk most of us don't know about? Any and all contacts on the subject are welcome, thanks everyone. Richard Rogers Elkhart, Texas
