FH> Did I say "Thomas Rolfe and his wife didn't have multiple children?" Yes of course I realize that :) It was "them" I referred to ... not you. I only cut out a snippet for brevity since others could read your entire message in this forum for themselves. I was just trying to discuss the topic for a helpful exchange of ideas that might spur us on to new discoveries. FH> If you'd like to cite some sources I'd be happy to look at them What I wrote was from my notes ... where I didn't annotate the source there as I didn't think their young deaths would be a controversial issue at a later date. I will try & track down the source again. FH> There is a grave in (I believe) Wise, VA marking the burial spot of FH> one Benjamin Bolling and citing him as a descendent of Pocahontas. Yes but that gravestone inscription was a personal family matter ... erected many, many years after his death by descendants with no public attempt to show evidence of their claim. I wonder whether a historical marker can supply us with more tangible proof ? One would hope that a government agency whose mandate is to deal with historical matters would do valid research before making any public claims. Any they should be able to access other government documents. FH> I mentioned a book published in 1923. Mary Barnett said Yes I have heard about this book but have yet to view a copy. The quotes I have seen taken from it though do not lead me to expect there will be documented sources concerning this matter. ------ NICOLE Notify Administrator about this message?
