I don't believe i've heard that statement before "without proof, there is no truth" and I have spent a few years at this.
A better one is "take it as research, not as fact"
If you had to prove everything probably 80% of all Genealogical findings would go down the tube.
I had photocopies of civil war papers on my Gr-Gr-Grandfather telling where and how he was killed. This was "proof"!
Problem is, it turns out, this man fought for the south.... and as I learned later, ours fought for the north!
As I said, if you research it and are satisfied with it, then accept it......but keep digging and you may turn up some very unusual bones!
As for Pocahontas, I am satisfied with my findings and if someone differs with me....the burden of proof falls on them!
