Good advice, Fred.

My father often told me that we descended from John Smith of Pocahontas fame.

Possibly he believed that and had heard it as a yougester. He was born in 1898. But, I have never been able to get my SMITH line out of Greenville County, SC with my ancestor, George Smith, born in 1808.

Thanks again for the advice.
A. D.
