Goodpipe surname/Sioux Indian Tribe

Hello?
There is a guy named Wolf Goodpipe from Canada who wants to research his family tree and he wants to research one of his lines: Goodpipe. It is an Indian name that is common among the Sioux Indian people.

He says his family escaped the white man's battles in South Dakota and settled in Canada just north of the border. He is trying to find out if Goodpipe surname is from Yankton Indian reservation in South Dakota. Can anyone help him?
His e-mail address is: wolfpaws@shaw.ca

I opened this forum in order to connect Sioux/Lakota/Nakota researchers with him and hopefully additional information may help him further in his researcher. Thank you!
