To Cris Wright.
According to a researcher on Powhatans' tribe, Pocahontas had a daughter by her Indian Marriage named Rebecca, which was Pocahontas's Christian name. She shows up later, in the Rolfe home at age 2 and half with the name Rebecca Rolfe. The source was an entry of a census of the Rolfe Household in an Edition of Pocahontas Genealogy Magazine, published in California around the 1980's and 90's.
The researcher who furnished the King name, was not a desc. of Pocahontas but of another member of Powhatan's tribe. He found material that said Rebecca's married name was Rebecca King. I found a Rebecca King on MyTrees.com that was born at that time and showed her date of death as beiing 1661. She had a daughter whose married name was Amherst. Later I found a Rebecca King who had been born in England, so I can't promise I found the right Rebecca.
A recent book on Pocahontas by a Mrs. Allen. She wrote a story saying that Pocahontas may have had more than one child. Later in a Book review program on TV Allen said she did not represent the book to being completely accurate. She was trying to write from a different point of view, namely the Indian. Since was she was part Indian, the Indians seem to cooperate more in taking with her.
