Hi All I have Penelope ( Bolling ?? ) , who was thought to have been a Bolling, in my tree. She is actually a Johnson rather than Bolling, most everyone is pretty sure. I came across her while researching my Anthony/ Clark Family line. All the researchers in the associated families that I have been in contact with say that she was a Johnson, and that there was no Penelope Bolling. I was disappointed that I had no ancestry from Pocahontas, until I discovered that I did after all, and actually had two lines of ancestry from Pocahontas, through my Mother`s Parents who were first cousins ! My descent is via Mary Bolling/ John Fleming to Elizabeth Fleming/ Samuel Jordan, and then to three more generations of Jordan`s, Mathew, Jonas, and Martha Jordan/ Samuel Burns to Martha Burns/ Randolph Owens, to William H H Owens, my Great Grandfather. So this is 14 generations to me from Pocahontas. But then I found out that on my Father`s side there is an unnamed Powhatan Woman in his line, from 1675, that is only 9 generations back. She married an ancestor of mine named Marshall Tunstall, abt 1673 - 1699. Does anyone know more about this unnamed Powhatan Woman ?? Thanks for any info !
