Pocahontas Family Genealogy Forum

Hi Wilma , I have been reading some of your post. I was wondering , do you know anything about the Burmuda Hundred in Hopewell where John Rolfe lived at one time. I see you're one of Pocahontas children too, so am I. I am fair with greenish eyes and dirty blonde hair, but at times you can see the high cheekbones, I feel like an indian at times I can't really explain that except its more than being a hippy its something I feel in my soul. But at the same time i am a mixture of a lot of things also from VA. KY.NC. people, I was born in Wise Co. in Clintwood Va.(I think Maj. Bolling is burried over that way) (I live in Richmond Va now & grew up in Louisa County VA) and something I think is pretty cute my son is dating a young girl from the upper Mattiponi Indians she is listed as minority(Indian). they are very nice people and she is darling. she's very quiet and very smart, but then I would think that, she is someone my sons adores. anyhow I thought back to square one with Pocahontas and Native American how its like coming full circle(I look at them and I have thought there's John Rolfe and Pocahontas(Rebecca). I am sorry such a long post I get a little excited about this since I finally believed my mothers people about our tree. See I was adopted and when I found my mothers people I was surprised to hear about Pocahontas but then it hit me there is a part of me that was here on this land way before the 1600's, I guess you know what I mean by that. It took me a while until I believed them(mothers family), and they have their stories and they are all from Wise/Dickenson/Clintwood/Tazwell(all in Southwest Virginia) Take Care, Sandi (I would have to count again but I think I am 10/11 generations from Pocahontas (Rebecca)
