One of the Newest books out says that Pocahontas's church was one that had Benn in the name and was 10 miles below Hog Island. The Author claimed that Pocahontas and John lived on Hog Island. Her research looked good. I have never been west of Richmond. I do know you are correct about the school for the deaf, It is too many years since I covered that material, but I think there was a family of 24 children who had several deaf and/or dumb members. It is a well known fact, medically, that the descendants of Pocahontas have many deaf members. Usually a lot is written about it, but I haven't seen anything new in years.

I don't know Charles County well, except I think some of what was north of the river is now on the other side because of changing river channels. We only drove thru it so that is not a fair acessment, but one of the Preident's home is there. I think Pres. Tyler. We passed the estate, but I don't know if one can visit.
