A long time a go you asked me about Mrs Woodley was was married to a Thomas Relfe in NC. I looked this up on the web and she was married to a Tanner. Also she had a much different age braacket than Thomas.

The North Carolina Thomas last marriage was to a Mary Grimes, whose sister was married to Gov. Reid. I think the sister's first name was Christian but I do not have a maiden name for the sisters. Gov. Reid and his wife's oldest son was also Christian.

Mary Grimes Rolfe was raising her sister's son. Hence Thomas of NC would be a foster father. The son is mentioned in his 1707 will written about in the Slatten and Moore article. It promises him an inheritance if he will continue to live with his aunt. Mary Grimes married a Jennings after Thomas died.

Someone sent me an e-mail, I think from the Rolfe Forum. At the end of this very long message there was a paragraph giving his line of descent. It showed that he had married a Dorothy Rolfe, a child of one of the Thomas Relfes of NC.

Sorry it took me so long to answer but I had to find my references again.
