I have ancestors from both the white Bollings and the "red" Bollings. We were always told that the "red" bollings were descended from Pocahantas(Robt Bolling & Jane Rolfe - 1 child John Bolling) and the white Bollings were descended from Robt Bolling & Anne Stith (2nd wife). I have never heard them called "blue" bollings. The spellings of the Bolling name have been Boling & Bowling. Any one descended from John Bolling Sr. is a "red" Bolling.
