I'm not a descendant of John Smith & Pocahontas, and was just looking through this forum out of curiosity. So, I've nothing invested in there being any descendants of these two.

First, it's naive to suggest that being a bachelor means he did not sire any children. Second, no documentation of his fathering a child means nothing. I know I have at least one half-sister, but you'll find this written nowhere (until now). And third, I coincidentally just read today about the Catholic Church excommunicating a mother and doctor in Brazil for an abortion performed on the woman's 9 year old daughter. The girl had been abused by her step-father (who has not been excommunicated) from the age of 6.

Oh, and please don't take this as my suggesting that Smith was a child molester. I'm only pointing out that a 9 year old child apparently can get pregnant.
