Hello Laura. I am equally excited to hear from you and may have some very interesting information for you. Is your father, Ed Podolak, the Kansas City Chief? If so, my Great Uncle Bill Podolak from California used to write him occasionally and kept many articles for many years. Our family always thought there might be a link as all of my Podolaks were from Omaha. Six children born to Kaspar and Mary Podolak. Kaspar's brother, Martin Podolak lived in Oxford Junction, Iowa in Jones County.
Two months ago, I located a Podolak relative in Czech Republic who is directly linked to my family so....maybe yours if we can find the link. The Czech relative traced us back to 1635!!!!! Ask your grandfather where in Czechoslovakia they were from and any other knowledge of his family. I have hoped to hear from your family for many years and think we may be on to something! I am going to Colorado Springs this Thursday to meet other Podolak descendants from Omaha who are my age (39). I have been tracing this for 25 years, believe it or not. I finally feel all my efforts have started paying off. I very much look forward to hearing back from you. Nobody knows these lines like I do, I can assure you. I hope we can find a connection.
