Greetings John:
I'm not sure I can help you or not. I have been following a Poffenberger line from MD to IN to KS. A very distant ggg married into the family, Mary Ann Boden. I have them in Salina, Wichita and Kansas City, KS. The last time I locate any family members is 1923 in KC. This family started out HUGE, a number of children died young and most of the descendents were from the female line; family names Siemer and Boyce. Only one Poffenberger male from this line had kids, William, and he had a son Loyd born 1888 in Kansas. (He may have even been a step-kid) I'm sure this is a longshot, but perhaps something worth checking out. Pat Schenk in Caledonia, MI.
