We have been looking for your first family group, too. I don't know why I can't find these Poffinbargers/Poffenbargers on Census records! If you have, let me know!
I have the same as you with two exceptions:
John (Johann?) Noel Poffinbarger (b. 1839)
+married: Hilda Bruwer (b. 1847)
(their son)
- Noel Poffinbarger (b. 1882 & d. 1954)(where?)
+married: Ethel Gerbur (b. 1876 & d. 1945)* (look below)
(Noel & Ethel's son)
-- Ralph Nolan Poffinbarger** (b. Feb. 6, 1913 & d. July 1977)
+married: Leona Nelson (parents: John C. Nelson & Cornelia Tambur)
*From a Rootsweb search, there was a mention of Noel Poffinbarger's marriage to Ethel, but, her maiden name was supposed to be Shawver (& our dates didn't exactly match for her). I wrote to the person who put this in & it was information that had been given to him from someone who had gathered the information 50 years ago. Could Ethel have married a Gerbur before she married Noel?
** From a Social Security Death Information search engine, I found Ralph Poffinbarger (correctly in Arizona). It had the birth & death dates; also, it had that the number was issued in Illinois before 1951. The Arizona address was Mesa, Maricopa Co., AZ.
If anyone can help me with places Noel & John Noel P. lived, siblings, dates, etc., we would appreciate the help! Thank you!!
