Poffinbarger/Poffenbarger? MD, OH, IN, ILL?

Have been searching for John Poffinbarger/Poffenbarger in Indiana lately. Noel/Noal & (brother) John C. gave the 1900 Census the birthstate of their father as IN; on the other hand the 1910 ILL Census, Noel gave his father's birth state as ILL! Sooo, I've been trying Indiana lately.

Found this family.

1870 Census - Columbus, Bartholomew Co., IN

Poffinbarger, John - age 52, b. abt. 1817 Maryland
" , Lydia - age 46, b. abt. 1823 Maryland
" , Kate - age 22, b. abt. 1847 Ohio
" , John - age 20, b. abt. 1849 Ohio (this one?)
" , Malissa - age 15, b. abt. 1854 Indiana
" , Cary - age 13, b. abt. 1856 Indiana
" , Ella - age 9, b. abt. 1860 Indiana
" , Charles - age 5, b. abt. 1864 Indiana
" , Cora age 3, b. abt. 1866 Indiana

Can anyone give me some information about son, John? Even though Noel & John C. gave IN as father's birthplace, they could have just known that (father) John was "from" Indiana & thought he was born there (if this family is the one we're looking for).

We were told that "our" John Poffinbarger married Hilda Bruwer. But, we've had no record of the family; can't find them anywhere. We know that Noel was born about 1882 ILL & his brother, John C., was born about 1884 ILL.

In the 1840 Indiana Census, I did find an index that had John Poffinbarger living in Urbana, Champaign Co., OH. Could this be the (father) John above?

Thank you for any help ....
