Ed, recently found the marriage license of Noal/Noel Poffinbarger & Ethel Shawver who married Oct. 20, 1905 in Vigo Co., Indiana. They lived their married life near Martinsville, Clark Co., Illinois. This is the information given:

Noal Poffinbarger, b. Nov. 1, 1883 Martinsville, ILL
residence: Martinsville, ILL
occupation: farmer

father: Edie Poffinbarger
his birth place: Marshall, ILL
his occupation: Miller
his residence: Marshall, ILL

mother: Jermiahan Rodgers
her birth place: Utica, Ohio
her residence: deceased

Ethel Shawver, b. June 6, 1885 Martinsville, ILL
residence: 401 s. 20th St. (doesn't give town)
occupation: general house work

father: John Shawver
his birth place: Martinsville, ILL
his occupation: farmer
his residence: Martinsville, ILL

mother: Eliza Shawver
her birth place: Casey, ILL
her residence: Martinsville, ILL

Noel would have been born after the 1880 Census. In the 1900 Census - Martinsville - Noal/Noel J. & John C. Poffinbarger (who are brothers, I think)(they are 18 & 15) are working as laborers for two different Moore families. Alonzo E. Poffinbarger is listed in the 1880 Census - Martinsville, ILL.

I think that Alonzo E. Poffinbarger went by his middle name & it became Edie/Eddie. Found him (I think) in a listing for 1899 Wabash Township, Clark Co., ILL as Ed. A. Poffinbarger. Just a reversal of initials.

Hope to hear from someone about these people. Thanks!
