Have recently found a connection to Alonzo Edgar "Ed" Poffenbarger - Marshall, Clark Co., IL - through his son Noel Poffinbarger, b. 1883 Martinsville, Clark Co., IL.
In Noel/Noal's marriage license to Ethel Shawver, he gives his father as Edie Poffinbarger of Marshall, IL, and his mother as Jermiahah Rodgers, deceased in 1905. Living in 1880 Census - Martinsville, Clark Co., IL - Alonzo E. Poffenbarger/Puffenbarger, his wife Jamima, daughter - Mary E., daughter - Stella, step daughter - Dora Griffin, step son - Jessa Griffin, & mother-in-law - Pheba Rodgers.
I think Alonzo would be nicknamed Ed or Edie & he is living in Martinsville where Noel/Noal, son, lived after his marriage. Another connection (who was father of Alonzo Edgar "Ed" Poffenbarger) is Joshua Poffenbarger (who married Mary "Polly" Clatfelter) living Marshall, IL.
