A Bible is being auctioned on Ebay which contains the following information:
This Bible was purchased in Mansfield, Ohio, from the estate of Helen Audrey McCammon Day, born Delaware Co., Ohio, March 17, 1902, wife of Harmon Kenneth Day, according to another Bible belonging to Mr. Day's parents, also listed now on eBay. The names John and Sarah E. McCammon are printed in gold on the deeply embossed hard leather front cover. The title page of this Bible is missing, but imprinted in gold on the spine are the words, Domestic Bible, Illustrated. The Bible is 8.5 x 11.25 inches, and on the back is printed in gold, "Our Family Guide." The spine covering is torn about 8.5 inches up one side, and edges and corners are moderately worn. There are several pages of family records in the back of this Bible, as well as empty photo pages. These pages show considerable wear, creases and tears, much more than the actual pages of Scripture which also show some light stains and foxing. Written on these genealogy pages: 1. Marriages. John McCammon and Sarah E. Pogue were married August 21st, 1872. 2. Births. John McCammon was born the second of April 1843. Sarah E. McCammon was born May the ninth 1850. Martin Reuben McCammon was born August 28th 1873. John Pogue McCammon was born July 28th, 1875. 3. Births. Mary Lizzie McCammon was born April the 6th, 1877. James Lin McCammon was born March 21st 1879. (NOTE: All the births appear to be written in the same hand in black ink.) 4. Deaths. James McCammon departed this life January 24th 1899 at 6 ½ a.m. Mrs. Marry McCammon departed this life August 4th 1899. Mack McCammon departed this life Oct. 15 - 1879. (NOTE: The above deaths were records in the same hand in black ink but appear to be a different hand than the births.) John McCammon deaprted this life, Apr. 1, 1919 (NOTE: This is written later in blue ink. Doesn't appear to be the same hand.) 5. Deaths. Sarah E. McCammon departed this life Dec. 12, 1933. (NOTE: This entry in blue ink appears to be the same hand that wrote the death entry of John McCammon). This information has been donated to the Ohio Genealogical Society in Mansfield
