Hi Gary, if you look on genforum messages for some time ago there is some discussion on origins of the name. The name is scottish in origins. Log onto the "Pollock" Clan website for initial information. Most (but not all)Pogues came to the USA, Canada, & Australia from Scotland and Ireland during the 17 & 1800s.Contact me at pogie@bigpond.com if you would like more information.
