Hi Brenda!
My GG-Grandfather was Daniel H(o)uston Pogue, b. 5 Sep 1845 in Greene Co. MO. His father & mother were Ezra Ulysses (Ephriam) Pogue b.ca1802 TN, & Sarah Pyles b.28 July 1809 TN, they were married 26 Jan. 1827 supposedly in Fentress Co. TN. One of Daniel's sisters is your GG-Grandmother - Mary Anne Pogue b. 10 Nov 1834, Webster Co. MO, d. 28 July 1926 Webster Co. MO - buried Sart(a)in Burial Grounds, Fordland, Webster Co. MO. She married Hiram Sarti(o)n on 6 April 1853 in Greene Co. MO. The "()" indicates other way of spelling - on Hiram's last name, the recording I have a copy of from the Greene Co. Courthouse added an "o" after the i. As you begin your search, you will find this happens often.

Daniel & Mary Anne had siblings: Andrew Jackson Pogue, buried in the Springfield National Cemetery, Springfield, Greene, MO; Arvenzenia (or Arbyzeny) Pogue who married Jesse Sartin on 27 Jan 1862; Elenour Pogue; John Westley Pogue; and Armilda Pogue. (Daniel & his wife, Malinda are buried in Union Chapel Cemetery, Christian Co. MO.)

After Ezra Ulysses died, GGG-Grandmother Sarah Pyles Pogue married Garrett Cornelison and they are buried in Walnut Shade Cem. Jasper, Taney, MO.

My Grandfather was Robert Pogue; his father was Charles D. Pogue; and his father was Daniel Huston. My father Leslie Vernon Pogue, was one of Robert's seven children.

Love to help you if I can. I have been researching this line for some time - trying to find where G-Grandmother (Charles' first wife) Caldonia Swearengin Pogue is buried. She died in 1899 or 1900 and left Charles with four young children.

Claudia Pogue Andrews :-) <><
