Hi Theresa,

I'm trying to determine if there's a connection between your Pogue line in eastern TN and my Carson line.

Ambrose Carson born c1798 TN Washington or Greene (older brother of my 3g grandfather) named a son Alfred Pogue Carson. My Carson line was in Caswell/Orange Guilford NC, then in Washington/Greene TN. Ambrose was a son of David Carson b1760. The family moved to Buncombe NC. Ambrose shows up in Haywood NC 1830.

One theory is that Ambrose married a Pogue daughter of an older Alfred Pogue.

Any hints?
Gary
