Dear Lyda, according to the records in Douglas Co., Mo., Jacob M. Holloway and Elizabeth Simmons Holloway moved there around 1851 along with a son named Jeremiah born around 1848 in Indiana. Jacob died there in 1860 (June) and it appears that his wife took the family to Jeff. Co., Ill. to ride out the war. Following that she is seen in Newton Co., Mo. in the 1870s through 1890, when she disappears. Jeremiah, Jerry, appears to have settled in McDonald Co., Mo. in the 1880s.

Having said that, I am really interested in the Holloway family you mentioned--could there be a connection between these two Holloway families. I would really like to know more about them. Jim Holloway
