Poehl from Prussia

I have a confirmation from Mecan, WI Lutheran Church for a William Poehl--parents Joseph Poehl and Ernestine. From family history, he was raised by Frederich & Pauline (Klingbeil) Men(t)zel. Depending on what you listen to, he either immigrated with them to the US at 9 months of age or about age 10. William naturalized as William Menzel with no mention of Poehl on the immigration documents. Depending on naturatization papers (his or Frederich's), he either immigrated in 1892 or 1889 maybe on the Karlsrue. William's paperwork says his last residence was Byron, Germany and he immigrated from Bremen to Baltimore.

I'm running out of ideas and am open to any suggestions.

Thanks in advance,

Martha
