My Grandfather Otto Pohl had a brother Gustav Pohl. He was married to a Mary (Maria)
Gustav Pohl is an older brother to my grandfather Otto Pohl.
Gustav was born 21 May 1888 in Hirschberg, Silesia
He was a baker who jumped ship (which he worked on) to enter America.
It is related by my father that Gustav baked cake for the Govenor of NY, Al Smith for an big Inaguration party.
Gustav married a woman named Mary and had Emma Pohl for 1919 and Mary "Marie" Pohl born 1923
On Gustav's WWI registration card it lists his employer as Adam ?island or ?siland (where the question mark is the letter is W or R as it is hard to read)
Otto Pohl (Gustav's brother--and my Grandfather) was born 09 Jan 1905
and his last residence before arriving in America was Leutmannsdorf,
Silesia. He came to USA the normal way cause his brother was here. Otto
Pohl married Josefa Hohenadel and had Otto Pohl Jr. born 1927 and Rudolf Pohl 1930
The Pohl brothers were bakers and owned a couple of bakeries together eventually.
My Pohl side of the family didn't talk of the old country or family there.
