POHLMAN, BALKE, WENZEL, ROGERS

George B. BALKE b. March 5, 1915 NY and d. Jan. 5, 1999 Lancaster Co., NE. He m. Dorothy "Dot" ROGERS. Dorothy's mother was Myrtle (unknown maiden name) ROGERS. Relation to this family are WENZEL and POHLMAN families. Myrtle ROGERS b. Nov. 18, 1892 and d. May 1975 Huntington, Suffolk Co., NY. This BALKE family was in IA before going to NE. Before IA they were in NY. I was at an auction and bought a 3-ring binder that has George B. BALKE's certificates, old photos, newspaper clipping from Aug. 28, 1953 of Myrtle ROGERS and grandson Richard BALKE while Myrtle was visiting the BALKE family in Lincoln, Lancaster Co., NE. And there are more misc. items in this notebook. Someone out there may want this. I don't need it because they don't tie into our family. I bought an old cookbook belonging to Dorothy "Dot" ROGERS BALKE and in it she has recipes given to her by "Grandma WENZEL", "Grandma POHLMAN" "Mom ROGERS" and "Mom BALKE". These are clues to the surnames in this BALKE family. The cookbook is NOT for sale but the 3-ring binder IS FOR SALE. Anyone interested in this notebook, please email me. It weighs about 5 lbs. so it will cost $7.70 priority US mail rate or media rate may be a little lower.
