The following obituary was found in the Anniston Star of December 24, 1950.
Mozell Pointer Funeral Today
Funeral services for Mozell Pointer, 61, who died Friday at his residence, Oxford, Rt. 2, will be held this afternoon at 1 o'clock at the Coldwater Baptist Church, with the rev. George Cobb and the Rev. Walker Dean officiating.Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery, Usrey Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Pointer was a nightwatchman at Emory Foundry, and had lived in Anniston most of his life.
Survivors include: his wife, Mrs. Lula Mae Pointer; four daughters, Misses Kathleen and Jeanette Pointer, all of Oxford, Rt. 2, Mrs. Flora Bell of Anniston, and Mrs. Florence Barksdale of Ohatchee, Rt. 1; five sons, Frank, Thurman, Nathan and Sylvester Pointer of Oxford, Rt.2, and Gus Pointer of Anniston; and one sister, Mrs. Arilla Clements of Chattanooga.
Active pallbearers will be:Dr. Joe Harner, Elbert Boozer, Hinton Boozer, Junior Cobb, J. B. Cobb, and Elbert Holland.Honorary pallbearers will be: J. D. Stephens, J. A. Morgan, Robert Dean, J. A. Parker, Frank McKee and Aubrey Hollinshed.
