Have found many (including myself) who have taken the Poitras line back as far as Laurent Poitras and Rene Bertin de Cugan, parents of Jean Poitras who married Marie Xainte-Vivier. This takes us to the early 1600s in LaRoche France. But I was wondering if anyone had taken it further than that? I have access to baptism and marriage records for that time and place, but not being able to read French makes researching these documents extremely difficult.
My Poitras connection is: Emma (1861) / Cyrille (1827) / Jean-Baptiste (??) / Barthelemie (1758) / Pierre-Francois (1702) / Francois (1675) / Jean (1639) / Laurent (1610).
