Macak is Serbian word for a...hm, male cat :-)
Raszeja sounds pretty much serbian because serbs were also called as "the Racsz" and simmilar, and Rascia is also the name for Serbia, because one of the first serbian states was Rascia (among Doklia, Bosnia etc.)
There was also in todays croatia place called slavonia...well, in the middle age it was also known as "Little Rascia", because serbs were majority (untill 1995 croatian ethnic cleansing and genocide)...

You have to find your mom's previous surname, before Raszeja, that is the key!You have to dig up in the past, where did her ancestors came from, maybe some old church books, u know the way...
