Hi Wendy.
Just a couple of more pieces of information for the Pilichowski family.
There is a 1920 U.S. census record for the Stanley “Pilickowski” family. They lived at 425 Fourth Ave. in Moline Ward 1, Rock Island County, IL.
Stanley was born in Poland in 1883. Mary was born in Poland in 1886. They had six children who, except for Stella, were all born in Illinois: Stella born in Poland in 1908, Charlie born in 1911, Helen born in 1912, Clara born in 1914, Leona born in 1918 and Felix born in 1919.
According to the census records, Stanley, Mary and Stella all immigrated to the U.S. in 1908. Stanley was still not a U.S. citizen. He was employed as a fireman in the wagon shop.
Both Stanley and Mary’s brothers were members of the household.
Thomas “Pilickowski” was married and was born in Poland in 1874. He immigrated to the U.S. in 1910. He was also employed as a fireman in the wagon shop. He was still listed as an alien.
Jacob Skalski was single and was born in Poland in 1884. He immigrated to the U.S. in 1904. He was employed as a laborer for the gas company. He was still listed as an alien.
There are a couple of passage records for a Frank Pilichowski who may be Stanley’s brother.
The is an Ellis Island passage record for a Franciszek Pilichowski who arrived in New York on March 11, 1904 on board the S.S. Graf Waldersee. His destination was 34 “Mikindry” (McKendree) in Chicago, IL where he was going to join his brother Anton Pilichowski. He was 30 years old and married when he arrived. His last place of residence was (Stare) Wolica.
There is a Baltimore passage record for a “Franc” Pilichowski who arrived in Baltimore on December 17, 1910. His destination was 713 “Turchann” St. in Baltimore where he was going to join a cousin Marcin Pawlicks. He was 38 years old and married when he arrived. He listed his wife Antonia as his nearest relative in his native land. His residence was listed as Stare Wolica, Warschau. Frank had listed a previous passage in 1904 and a previous residence in Chicago.
Best regards,
Norbert
