Hi Dell,
Circa 1900, my paternal grandparents lived at 8426 Superior and my maternal grandparents lived at 8348 Superior (Chicago’s Southeast Side). Illinois Steel Company (later to become U.S. Steel Company) was the areas largest employer and at its peak employed 18,000 workers (our ancestors).
