Hello Norbert...
It is a small world!

My great grandfather, grandfathers, uncles and father all worked at U.S. Steel. In 1904 my great grandfather moved to Wisconsin, but his sons returned to work in the mills to supplement the farm, which continues to be operated by family today.

Have you seen the booklets by Rod Sellers, "Chicago's Southeast Side" and "Chicago's Southeast Side Revisited"? Many photographs of the mills and life in South Chicago.
