Just an observation I made on the February 16, 1909 Holy Trinity marriage register for Alexander Jakubowski and Connie Kossobudzki (nee Zablonski),
One of the witnesses to that marriage was Victoria’s mother Salomea Tamborska.
It appears that she and her husband Stanislaus Tamborski also moved to the Chicago area.
There is a 1910 U.S. census for a Salomea”Tambarska” (a widow) living at 1313 W. Chapin Street (now W. Haddon Ave. and/or W Thomas Street) in Chicago Ward 17, Cook County, IL (present-day zip code 60642).
Salomea was born in 1862 in Austria/Poland. She immigrated to the U.S. in 1885 and was employed as a sorter in a rag shop.
It appears that Stanislaw/Stanley Tamborski was with Salomea until his death on March 8, 1910. According to a Cook County Death Index, Stanislaw was born on January 24, 1844 in Poland. He was married and 66 years old when he died. He was living at 1313 W. “Chafin” and supported by his wife. He was buried at St. Adalbert’s Cemetery.
There are January 8, 1919 Cook County and State of Illinois death records for a “Soloneira Tomborska”. At the time of her death, her street address was listed as 4340 Iowa Street and her place of death was listed as Norwood Park (quite a distance apart). Her father’s name was listed as “Stanislaus Tomborska” Salomea’s place of birth was listed as Austria and her parents as Poland. She was buried at St. Adalbert’s Cemetery.
