My Maternal Grandfather is Jan (John) Grabowski. I believe that he came to the US around 1911 (according to Census Records). He died at age 29 in Hamtramck, Michigan in 1920. According to his death certificate, he was from Budy Piaseczne, Poland. His parents are listed as Walinty (Walenty?) Grawbowski and Mary Jankowska and a birthplace for them is also shown as Budy Piaseczne. His wife, my deceased Grandmother, is Leokadya Jaworska. I believe her Father's name was Joseph Jaworski and his wife's name was Josephine. I do not know what town my Grandmother is from. According to family legend, my Grandmother was disowned by her Father when she became involved with my Grandfather, who was a farm hand. According to US census records, she came to the US in 1912 with their oldest child (born in Poland), a year or so after my Grandfather came here. They apparently were in Indiana for a few years prior to going to Michigan. That is all I know as my Mom (the youngest) and all of her siblings are long deceased. I am planning a trip to Poland as soon as I get more information including what Catholic church I might contact to get information from baptismal records, etc. Many thanks for any help anyone can give me!
