There are several branches of the Pole family in Derbyshire England and they are described well in booklets in two volumes: "Manors & Families of Derbyshire" Editor Peter J Naylor ISBN 0 946404 35 6 published in 1984 by J.H.Hall & Sons Siddals Road Derby in the Derbyshire Heritage Series.

My family claimed to have descended from a branch of the family of Margaret Pole Countess of Salisbury. I doubt it was true or I would be the rightful King of England!
