Good afternoon John. I am sorry to advise that I cannot help you with regard to the connection of the Pettypool or Petypole families to the Pole/Pool family. I would suggest that you contact the nearest Mormon Family History Center (at any Mormon church). They may well have information on this at the main library in Salt Lake City, which may also be on microfilm, making it available at any of their Family History Centers. Good luck.

I am also curious how your name came to be Poole. Presumably you are descended from the Pettypool or Petypole family. And if they descended from Pole/Pool, how did your family name get changed back to the original after having been changed to Pettypool or Petypole? I suppose someone simply decided to change back to the original. Fascinating, though.
