Thanks for the reply. I am a decorative arts historian who is interested in Philadelphia artisans of the 18th century. I have run across John Pole's name in connection with research I did on pewterer Simon Edgell. If you'd like copies of my articles mentioning Pole, I would be happy to e-mail them to you.

What information do you have about his activities as a merchant or otherwise?
