Polkinghornes of Truro pre and post 1900

My grandfather was called Claude Polkinghorne and was born in 1900. Married to Gertrude, they had nine children - Joan, Kenneth, Mark, Adris, Melville, Anne, Barbara, John and Stuart.

Family legend has it that at some time in the past my ancestors owned much of High Cross in Truro - which of course is now the hub of the commercial centre.

I should be grateful for any family links - especially those that pre-date 1900.
