I am trying to trace a jewish family from Austria-Hungary. Jacob Pollak married Charlotte Deutsch in the mid 1800s. They had at least 2 sons, Samuel Pollak born in Hungary about 1840 and Ignatius Pollak born in March, 1846 in "Miklos" Hungary.
Ignatius Pollak came to the US to Wisconsin in 1866; he moved to Montgomery, Alabama and founded Pollak's Dollar Store in Montgomery with his brother, Samuel, in 1868.
Supposedly Ignatius married his first cousin, Helene Kohn, in 1876. If this is true, that Helene's father was a Kohn and her mother was a Pollak Kohn.
I'm wondering if Moses Kohn and Mari Pollak were Helene Kohn's parents. Do you know?
